Animation School

COVER LETTER & RESUME

I have successfully completed a diploma in advanced Character Animation through Animation Mentor which provided me with strong knowledge of animation, pantomime and acting principles.

My experience In animation brings me back when I was 10 when I animated a little stickman playing soccer on Microsoft Word (I bet you haven’t heard that before) yes you read correctly Microsoft Word, I moved the little stickman in a backward order, so when I hit repeatedly the undo button it would create an illusion of being animated forward in the screen, sadly, back then the redo button only had memory for 2 or 3 hits so my animation could be seen only ones, and also like I mentioned, I had to do the whole thing backwards first. I guess that from doing crazy stuff like that I develop the love, patience and perseverance that is needed to be good at animation.

In a more seriously tone, my background in this art is empirical before Animation Mentor, I always loved to draw, paint and since I recall it, I had tried to express myself as artistically as I could.

I have also had the opportunity study at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada the professional career of Multimedia Engineering, and train myself on skills like: Modeling, Rendering, Character Design, Design, Short Film Production and Programing. This helped me complement my abilities with an excellent knowledge off theoretical concepts and technical skills that gave me a lot more freedom when expressing my ideas and thoughts trough animation.

I had the opportunity to work as Character Animator in several Studios such us, ZIO Animation Studios, Oruga, and Brash 3D, mostly for TV commercials and 3D Mappings, this experience helped me clear up my workflow so I could meet very tight deadlines and allowed me to meet amazing people who helped me grow as an artist and as a person.

The main reason that I love animation as a profession, is because if someone asks me what I do for living, I’m able to answer, I have fun.
